2 cups sugar
2 cups flour
6 eggs, separated
1/2 pound butter
1-1/2 pounds golden raisins
1/2 pound shredded coconut
1 cup orange juice
1/2 cup candied orange slices
1/2 cup chopped candied cherries
2 teaspoons baking powder
1 teaspoon nutmeg
4 cups pecans

Directions:

Cream butter; add sugar gradually and cream again until fluffy. Add well beaten egg yolks to creamed mixture. Next, add dry ingredients alternately with liquid. Beat egg whites until stiff and fold into mixture. Dust fruit and nuts with 3/4 cup flour. Fold them into the batter. Line angel-food cake pan with brown paper. Pour batter into pan and bake at 300 degrees for 2-1/2 to 3 hours.
