Lumpen Lettuces (such as anything NOT Kale)
Crispy Crunchy Lettuces (such as Iceberg)
Colorful Lettuces (not Green)
— Note: Total amount of Lettuces should be what would fill the volume of a two quart Pyrex measuring cup —
1 large or a couple medium Carrots
1 medium or a couple small fresh Beets
A ripe fruit of your own choosing such as Peach, Orange, Apple, etc. but no turnips, no parsnips, no pomegranates)

It permitted that you be allow yourself your choices vegetable and / or fruit options but you know be choice “Less is More” and but no turnips, no parsnips, no pomegranates.

REQUIRED EQUIPMENT
Salad Spinner
Quad function grater
Two large salad bowls (large meaning 3 to 4 quarts)
Various and Sundry knives and cutting boards
Baking soda or, for the exceptionally germ-averse and chemical embracing, Dawn (or DollarTree or Walgreens knockoff)

Directions:
1. Place lettuces in salad spinner; fill with warm water; add a dab of Dawn; swish lettuces around; drain.
2. Rinse thoroughly and then drain THREE TIMES; after third drain skin vigorously and drain.
3. Be kind and unlazy and cut the lettuces into bite size pieces.
4. Thoroughly clean carrots using baking soda or Dawn; do not peel carrots.
5. Chop off top and bottom of beet and peel the rest.
6. Using quad grater, shave the carrots and beet (on same side of grater used to grate cheese).

— WATCH YOUR FINGERS!! It’s better to waste food than to add blood to it. —

7. Depending on fruit, wash, peel, slice, as needed.
8. Assemble: Add beet and carrot shavings to lettuce; toss between bowks to mix well; then add fruit and gently fold in.
9. Serve chilled with a real non-tart salad dressing such as Catalina, French, Russian, or Thousand Island.*

Variation: Dice or slice or cut Beet and Carrots.

*Save money and stay sane: Avoid the Balsamic Fresh Organic Ginger Honey, Persimmon, Rasperry, Lime Craft infusions.
