¾ cup dried currants
¼ cup rum
⅔ cup sugar
½ cup butter
1 egg
1 tsp vanilla
1½ cups flour

Directions:
Directions:
Preheat oven to 375º
Grease cookie sheet

Add currants to rum and soak for 2 hours till plump.

Cream sugar and butter.
Add egg and vanilla, mixing till blended.
Stir in soaked currants and rum.
Add flour a little at a time. Mix well after each addition.

Drop rounded teaspoonfuls of dough onto cookie sheet and spread slightly, keeping cookies small and round

Bake 5 - 6 minutes or until browned around edges.
Cool on racks
