1 c. butter or margarine
¾ c. sugar
1 tsp. vanilla
¼ tsp. salt
1 egg
2¼ c. Occident flour

Directions:
Directions:
Cream together all ingredients except flour. Blend in flour. Divide dough in half. Spread each half with floured fingers or spatula to a 12 X 10" rectangle on ungreased cookie sheet. Run floured fork tines over top to make "spritz" marks. Sprinkle with colored sugars if desired.

Bake 350º 15 to 20 minutes or until delicately browned. Cut immediately into 3 x 1" sticks. Remove from cookie sheet.

Chocolate "Spritz" Increase sugar to 1 c. and add 2 oz. melted unsweetened chocolate. Do not over bake.

Pepperkakor "Spritz" Omit egg, add ¼ c. light molasses & ½ tsp. cinnamon, nutmeg, cloves, ginger with sugar
