1 cup oleo
1 cup molasses
1 ½ cup sugar
2 tsp. Soda
6 cups flour
¼ tsp.cloves
1 tsp. Cinnamon
½ tsp ginger
½ tsp salt

Frosting:
1 envelope Knox gelatin
¾ cup water
¾ cup sugar
¾ cup powdered sugar
¾ tsp. Baking powder
½ tsp. Vanilla

Directions:
Directions:
1. Mix oleo, molasses, and sugar together
2. Next add 2 tsp. Soda dissolved in ½ cup hot water
3. Then mix in flour, cloves, cinnamon, ginger and salt. Stir well.
4. Chill in refrigerator for one hour.
5. Roll out fairly thick and cut with top of a glass.
6. Bake at 350 degrees for 10 min. Remove and place on cooling rack.

Frosting:
1. Soak gelatin in sauce panin the 3/4 cup water. Then add sugar and simmer 10 minutes and stirring often.
2. Remove from the heat and add powdered sugar and sugar. Beat until foamy.
3. Then add baking powder and vanilla and beat until thick enough to spread on cookies.
4. We let sit on table overnight to get frosting harder and then put in container.
