1 1/2 tsp baking soda
1 tsp water
1 1/2 tsp vanilla
Mix and reserve

1 1/2 cup sugar
1 cup water
1 cup light corn syrup

3 Tbs butter
1 pound of raw spanish peanuts

2 large cookie sheets, greased with butter or margarine. Place in a 200 degree oven.

Directions:
Mix sugar, water, corn syrup and cook over medium high heat. Will boil till water is gone - gets quieter. Bring to 240 on candy thermometer, add nuts and butter. KEEP STIRRING and cook until candy thermometer says 300 degrees. Add soda/vanilla mixture; stir thoroughly. Remove cookie sheets from over. Turn candy out on to warm cookie sheets, spread thinly and allow to cool,
