½ cup soft butter
½ cup soft shortening
1 cup sugar
3 eggs

½ cup sour cream

3½ cups sifted flour
1 tsp baking powder
½ tsp baking soda
1½ tsp salt

¾ cup chopped candied cherries
1 cup shredded coconut
1 tsp grated orange rind
1½ tsp almond extract

Directions:

Preheat oven to 400º

Cream the butter, shortening and sugar. Add the eggs and mix well. Stir in the sour cream.
Sift together the dry ingredients and add to the creamed mixture.
Stir in the cherries, coconut, orange rind and almond estract.

Drop by rounded tesspoons about 2 inches apart on a cookie sheet.
Bake 10 - 12 minutes until lightly browned.
