Ingredients:
Ingredients:
Saltine crackers (or Ritz Crackers)
1 cup butter
1 cup brown sugar
1 bag semi sweet chocolate chips

Sliced almonds ( optional )
or Maldon sea salt ( optional )

Directions:
Directions:
Preheat oven to 400 degrees.
Line a jelly roll pan ( 10x15 ) with parchment paper. Lay out rows of saltines or ritz crackers in a single layer to cover the pan.
In a sauce pan over medium heat, slowly bring butter and brown sugar to boiling. Once bubbling, DO NOT STIR! Boil for 3 minutes. Carefully pour the butter sugar mixture over the crackers. Don't scrape the sides of the sauce pan at the end of pour or your toffee may be grainy. Then bake the toffee for 6-8 minutes in oven until bubbling.
Remove pan from oven and place on potholder on counter. Evenly pour the bag of chocolate chips over the cracker/toffee mixture. Let sit for 3-4 minutes until the chocolate chips are shiny and spread easily. Spread the chocolate chips evenly across the toffee.
If desired, sprinkle with sliced almonds or maldon sea salt.

Cool in refrigerator and then break up into pieces. I store them in the fridge because I think they keep better that way.
