2 cups flour
4 tsp. baking powder
½ tsp. salt
¼ cup sugar
½ cup shortening (course oatmeal texture)
1 egg
½ cup milk

Directions:
Directions:
Sift dry ingredients. Cut in shortening. Beat milk and egg together and add to mix. Stir to form stiff moist dough. Turn out on lightly a floured surface. Knead about 20 times. Roll in 3/4 inch thickness and cut. Or roll thinner and put jam in center of each. Fold over and seal. Place on greased baking sheet; Bake at 400°F for 15 to 20 minutes or until golden.
