Directions:You will need 2 of the largest roasting pans you can find. I buy the foil ones at Walmart. Mix cereal, nuts and pretzels evenly between pans. In a large microwave safe bowl melt butter. Mix in seasonings. You will need to continually mix butter to keep seasonings from settling on the bottom. Divide this sauce between your two pans of cereal mix. Gradually pour mixture over cereal & nut mixture stirring to evenly coat. Bake at least 1 hour stirring every 10 - 15 minutes. This stirring is very important to keep the seasoning evenly coating the cereal and nuts. Otherwise you will end up with pieces at the bottom soaking up all the seasoning and sticking together in hard balls, and not edible. Depending on your pan you may have to cook another hour. You will notice the cereal getting crisp when it's done. The larger the pan and the less thickness of the cereal mixture in the pan the easier to stir and crisp it up. |

Notes: This is a Corrie family Christmas tradition. Our grandmother and mother would always have plenty ready for the holidays. Now I have taken up this task. It's a great snack for traveling.
