1 cup applesauce
1 tsp. soda
1 cup sugar
2 eggs
1/2 cup shortening
2 1/2 cup flour
1/2 tsp. cinnamon, cloves, nutmeg and allspice
Add nuts and chocolate chips or raisins.

Stir together applesauce and soda

Cream sugar, shortening and eggs
Add flour and spices

Add nuts chocolate chips or raisins
Bake in a 375 oven for 12 to 13 minutes
