6 lb. crisp apples (Granny Smith) peeled, cored and chopped
3 cps. sugar
1 Tbsp. cinnamon
1 tsp. nutmeg
1 tsp. cloves
1/4 tsp. salt
1 tsp. vanilla

Directions:
Directions:
Place apple pieces in crockpot. Sprinkle with sugar and spices. Cover and cook on low 10 hours, stirring occasionally. Uncover and stir in vanilla. Use mixer to puree apple butter. Continue cooking uncovered for another 2 hours. Pour hot apple butter into jars and seal.
