Ingredients: 1 1/4 shortening (I prefer butter-flavored Crisco) 2 c. granulated sugar 2 lg. eggs 2 tsp. vanilla 2 c. all purpose flour 3/4 c. Hershey's unsweetened cocoa 1 tsp. baking soda 1/2 tsp. salt 1 c. semisweet chocolate chips 1 c. pecans

Directions:Sift together flour, cocoa, baking soda and salt (set aside) Preheat oven to 325º Cream shortening and sugar in a lg. mixing bowl. Add eggs and vanilla; blend well.
Next add combined dry ingredients into creamed mixture; mix well then add chocolate chips and nuts (optional) (mix until combined) *Drop by scoopfuls onto greased/floured cookie sheet(s) Bake for 10 min. (do not overbake). I prefer Baker's Joy to grease/flour the cookie sheets.
Cookies will puff during baking, flatten upon cooling
*Will make 12 lg. cookies using ice cream scoop and 24 regular size using cookie scoop. Personal Notes: Personal Notes: Personal Notes: Personal Notes: You can add milk chocolate or dark chocolate chips and/or chopped pecans or walnuts to add another taste dimension |
