Peach French Toast Recipe

1 c. brown sugar
1/2 c. butter
2 tbsp. water
1 can (29 oz.) sliced peaches, DRAINED
12 slices day-old French bread or Vienna bread (3/4 in. thick)
5 eggs
1 1/2 c. milk
cinnamon & nutmeg

Make this the night before or 8 hours prior to serving. In a saucepan, bring brown sugar, butter and water to a boil. Reduce heat and simmer for 10 minutes. Stirring frequently. Pour into a greased 9" x 13" baking dish, and top this with the drained peaches. Arrange bread slices over the peaches. In a bowl, whisk eggs, milk and vanilla. Slowly pour over the brerad. Cover and refrigerate for 8 hours or overnight. Remove this from the refrigerator 30 minutes before baking. Sprinkle with cinnamon and nutmeg. Cover and bake at 350 degrees for 20 minutes and then uncoverd for 30 minutes longer.
