3 Very Ripe Banana's, mashed
½ c. Shortening
1 c. Granulated Sugar
2 Eggs
1½ c. All Purpose Flour
1 tsp. Baking Soda
1 tsp. Salt
4 tbsp. Sour Cream
chopped Nuts or Dates-optional

Directions:
Directions:
Mash bananas in a bowl with a fork and set aside. Cream together shortening and sugar. Add eggs, beat thoroughly. Add bananas, beat thoroughly. Sift together dry ingredients. Add dry mixture alternately with sour cream to banana mixture. Pour into greased loaf pan. Bake at 350ºF for 50 minutes until toothpick comes out clean.
