1 lb. fresh squash
1 tsp. sugar
½ c. mayonnaise
Salt and pepper to taste
bread crumbs
1 egg
½ c. chopped nuts or 1 can sliced water chestnuts (that is what I prefer)
½ c. grated sharp cheese
½ stick butter

Directions:
Directions:
Cook squash until tender, drain. Add butter and mash. Mix sugar, egg, mayonnaise, water chestnuts, salt, pepper and cheese. Add to squash. Pour mixture into Pam sprayed casserole dish. Top with bread crumbs, dot with butter.

Bake at 350º for 35 or 40 minutes or until done and lightly browned on top.

Serves 4 to 6.
