2 sticks (1 c.) unsalted Butter, softened, plus additional for buttering pan
3 c. sifted cake flour (not self-rising; sift before measuring) plus additional for dusting
¾ tsp. salt
3 c. sugar
7 large eggs, at room temperature 30 minutes
2 tsp. vanilla
1 c. heavy cream

1. Preheat oven to 350º.
2. Butter and flour two 8½ x 4 ½ inch loaf pans - or - 10 inch bundt pan (3 ¼" deep; 3-qt. capacity)
3. Combine the sugar and butter on medium speed with electric mixer until creamy - about 3 minutes.
4. Add eggs, 1 at a time, beating well after each addition.
5. Stir in 1½ c. of flour.
6. Add whipping cream and beat in remaining flour and vanilla.

Bake until golden and a tester inserted in the center of cake comes out clean... about 1 hour.

Cool in pans 5 minutes. Remove from pans; cool completely on wire racks.

Makes about 20 servings.
