Ingredients:  
Use broth from boiling chicken if possible or just chicken cubes added to pot full of water - may also add stips of bacon for flavour
1 leek
carrots - shredded
turnip - shredded
onion - shredded
pearl barley (steeped to soften)
lentils (steeped to soften - rinse well)
potatoes

Directions:
Directions:
To a large stock pot add:
Water
chicken cubes (boil until dissolved)
carrots
turnip
onion
barley
lentils
Simmer for 2 hours

In separate pot, boil potatoes to add to bowl of soup or serve with crusty bread
