¾ cup shortening
½ teaspoon soda
½ tsp. salt
¾ tsp. ground mace
1 tsp. grated lemon rind
1½ tsp. grated orange rind

1 cup suger
1 large egg
1 tbsp. orange juice
2 cups sifted all- purpose flour
¾ cup sour cream
1 cup flaked coconut

Directions:
Directions:
Blend together the first six ingredients. gradually add sugar, mixing well after each addition. beat in egg, and add orange juice. Stir in flour alternately with sour cream add coconut. Drop round teaspoons of dough 2" apart on a lightly greased cookie sheet.

Bake in preheated oven at 375 º 12 to 14 minutes. cool and store in airtight container.


Makes 3 1/2 dozen
