½ head of cabbage, chopped
1 cup celery diced
1 cup white or yellow onions, diced
1 cup carrots, dice
1 green pepper, diced
2-3 cloves of garlic, minced
8 cups chicken broth
14 oz. can diced tomatoes
4 cups kale
1 turnup
1 pkg frozen Italian green beans
2 tsp. oregano
2 tsp. basil
⅓ tsp. red pepper flakes
few shakes of black pepper
½ tsp. salt (optional)

Directions:
Directions:
Heat 2 tablespoons of olive oil in a large pot over medium heat.
Add celery, onions, bell peppers,carrot, and turnip.
saute until slightly tender.
Stir in garlic
pour in chicken broth
stir in tomatoes, cabbage, kale and Italian green beans
Bring to a boil and the reduce heat
cook until cabbage is tender
Stir in oregano, basil, red pepper flakes, black pepper and salt ( if used)
Taste broth and adjust seasoning if needed
Serve and enjoy

Note: if you wish to add 1 lb. of mushrooms, a can of Garbanzo beans , and a can green beans, double the amount of chicken broth and spices.

Calories per cup about 30, if Garbanzo beans and Kidney beans are used about 60 calories per.
