1 cup of margarine
½ cup sugar
½ teaspoon of vanilla extract
2 cups of all sifted purpose flour
1 cup of chopped nuts

Directions:

Mix butter and sugar and mix until creamy. Add a little salt, vanilla extract, flour, and nuts mix well. Chill dough. Using fingers shaping dough into balls. Place on ungreased cookie sheet until light brown at 350° about 15 minutes. Then roll in powdered sugar. Store in an airtight container.

This is one of the best cookie balls recipes ever made! They are so good in fact, Daddy would call them belly busters. He said he would eat so many it felt like his belly was going to bust! Well, that would tickle my granny, who did not make them often, but when she did, they disappeared faster than smoke in the wind. I do remember this being a staple snack during the Christmas season! Sometimes she would let us kids roll the balls. They never were a consistent size, but that’s the risk you take with kids! She never minded.
