Notes: Our family likes to pull pranks! One year my brother found a dehydrated possum in daddy’s shop. He thought it would be fun to tie a pretty bow around the perfectly preserved skeleton’s neck, place it in fancy wrapping paper and give it to my sister Angela for Christmas. Imagine the surprise she got! This goes without saying, some things are not always what they seem! There is no real possum in this pie! Way back in 1975 Mom found a recipe for Possum pie in the local newspaper. Yes! This is a special pie but sounds similar to a pecan pie more than anything. Try not to think of possums when you eat this scrumptious dish!
