1 cup butter or margarine
1 cup Crisco
1 cup powdered sugar
1 cup granulated sugar
2 eggs
4 cups flour, sifted
1 tsp cream of tartar
1 tsp baking soda
1 ½ tsp vanilla

Directions:
Directions:
Preheat oven to 350º
Cream butter, shortening and both sugars
Add eggs and beat well
Combine sifted flour, cream of tartar and baking soda- mix into egg/butter mixture
Add vanilla
Roll into small balls
Sprinkle with sugar and place on greased cookie sheet
Flatten with glass dipped in colored sugar
Bake 8-10 minutes until a tan color
