1 box Betty Crocker yellow cake mix
1 20 oz. can crushed pineapple
1 c. sugar
1 large box Jell-O vanilla pudding (prepared)
1 12 oz. Cool Whip
1 c. chopped pecans
1 small jar Maraschino cherries (optional but does add color)

Directions:
Directions:
Make cake and bake as directed. While cake is baking, combine pineapple and 1 cup sugar and bring to a boil. While cake is still warm, punch holes and pour pineapple (juice and all) over cake. When cake is cool, top with pudding, Cool Whip, chopped pecans and cherries.
