Cake:
2 cups sugar
3 eggs
1-1/2 cups vegetable oil
1/4 cup orange juice
3 cups flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1/4 tsp. salt
1 T. cinnamon
1 T. vanilla
3 cups Granny Smith apples, peeled and chopped
1 cup sweetened coconut
1 cup chopped pecans







Butter Sauce:
1/2 cup butter
1/2 cup buttermilk
1 cup sugar
1/2 tsp. baking soda

Directions:
Directions:
Beat together sugar, eggs, oil, vanilla and orange juice. Combine dry ingredients and add to mixture. Mix well. Fold in apples, coconut and pecans. Transfer to a greased 10 inch tube pan. Bake at 325ºF for about 90 minutes or until a toothpick inserted near center comes out clean. Shortly before cake is done, make the sauce as follows: Melt butter in saucepan; stir in sugar, buttermilk and baking soda. Bring to a good rolling boil, stirring constantly. Boil for 1 minute. Pour hot sauce over the top of hot cake in the pan as soon as you remove it from the oven. Let it stand 1 hour and then turn out cake onto wire rack to completely cool.
