"I have long believed that good food, good eating is all about risk. Whether we're talking about unpasteurized Stilton, raw oysters or working for organized crime 'associates,' food, for me, has always been an adventure."--Anthony Bourdain

Ingredients:
Ingredients:
2-3/4 C flour
1-1/2 C butter flavored shortening
1 tsp salt
1 tsp white vinegar
1 egg
1/4 C water

Directions:
Directions:
Combine flour, salt & shortening with pie knife or a fork until mixture resembles big crumbs. Beat the egg in the water & vinegar. Add the egg mixture to the crumbs a little at a time, mixing with a fork. When you have a soft dough that forms into a ball, stop adding the egg mix. (you might not have to use it all) Chill this well to help in rolling out. This makes a very soft dough. Flour your surface and rolling pin well. Pinch off about 1/5 of the dough and form into a ball before rolling out. This should make about 5 single crusts to fit a 8 or 9 inch pie pan. Use more dough for a big deep pie.
