6 sild fillets
3/4 cup (2 deciliter) yogurt or sour cream
1/3 cup mango chutney (approximately)
1/2 cup chopped cilantro
3 tablespoons chives cut into 1" lengths.
2 garlic, minced
1/2 jalapeno pepper finely chopped, adjust to your tolerance for heat.
1 tablespoon sugar
Salt and coarsely ground pepper to taste.

Place fillets in cold water for 30-60 minutes until not too salty. Drain water and dry with paper towels.

Cut fillets at an angle into 3/4 " pieces. Place yogurt in bowl. Stir in all ingredients.Place layers of fillet slices in sanitized glass jar and pour mixture over each layer.

Fill jar to the top with the remainder of mixture and marinate in refrigerator overnight. Keep refrigerated.
