1/2 cup granulated sugar
2 tsp. cinnamon
1/4 tsp. cloves
1/2 tsp. nutmeg

Directions:
Directions:
Peel and slice apples, place in slow cooker. I like to use a combination of 2 or more apples like Fuji, Gala, Red Delicious, or Honeycrisp apples to give a more complex flavor.
Combine water, brown sugar, granulated sugar, cinnamon, cloves, and nutmeg -sprinkle over apples.
Cook on low for 8 -10 hours, stirring occasionally. To get really smooth and creamy apple butter process with an immersion blender until thoroughly mixed.
Spoon into clean mason jars with the lid ajar, allow to cool completely and thicken up. Place in refrigerator for up to two weeks or freeze for 6 months.
