2 1/2 cups all purpose flour

1 tsp baking powder

3/4 tsp salt

1 cup sugar

3/4 cup butter, softened

2 eggs

1 1/2 tsp vanilla extract

Directions:
Directions:
In a small bowl, stir flour, baking powder and salt; set aside.

In a large mixer bowl at medium speed, beat sugar and butter until creamy. Add eggs, vanilla and almond extract and beat well. At low speed, beat in flour mixture until well blended. divide dough into 4 portions. Cover and chill for 1 hour or until firm enough to handle.

Preheat oven to 350º

On a lightly floured surface, roll one portion of dough at a time to 1/8 inch thickness. Dip cutters in flour and cut cookies. Place cookies 1 inch apart on uncreased baking sheets. Lightly sprinkle with sugar before baking or leave plain and frost after baking.

Bake for 7 to 9 mins. or until edges are light brown. Cool cookies on wire racks

Store in airtight container in a cool place.

Frosting: Please check miscellaneous for frostings for cookies, can also decorate with candied cherries, chocolate chips for a snowman; just some suggestions.

I used to have my daughters help me make these for Christmas and it was fun. Interpretation is the key to cookies I think.
