Pineapple mixture:
1 c. crushed pineapple, drained
1 1/2 c. brown sugar
1 T. cornstarch
2 T. butter

Cake batter:
3 c. flour
3 tsp. baking powder
1 1/4 c. sugar
1/2 c. butter (scant)
2 eggs
1 tsp. salt
1 c. pineapple juice

Directions:
Directions:
Pineapple mixture: Stir sugar, add butter, pineapple, and cornstarch. Mix well. Place in bottom of greased cake pan.

Cake batter: Cream butter, add sugar, well beaten eggs, and pineapple. Sift dry ingredients together 3 times and add immediately alternately with pineapple juice to the butter, sugar, and egg mixture. Pour over pineapple mixture. Bake at 375-400 degrees. Watch cake for doneness.
