3 T. butter
1/3 c. brown sugar
Pineapple rings
Maraschino cherry halves
White or Yellow cake mix or 2 egg plain cake

Directions:
Directions:
Melt butter in a cake pan (or cast iron skillet) sprinkle with brown sugar. Arrange pineapple rings or cubes in pattern as you desire. Halves of maraschino cherries may be used too.

Pour cake batter over fruit and bake in moderate oven over 45 to 50 mins. (Use white or yellow cake mix, or a two egg plain cake)

Invert pan on cooling rack, bet cake remain in inverted pan 1 minute to allow sirup to drain onto cake.

In many of Grandma Whittlesey's recipes, she spells syrup as sirup. I chose to use her spelling in this recipe.
