Ingredients:
2 egg whites
1 1/2 c. sugar
1/3 c. water
2 tsp. white Karo corn syrup
1 tsp. vanilla

Directions:
Directions:
Combine unbeaten egg whites, sugar , water and corn syrup in top of double boiler; beat enough to blend ingredients.

Place over rapidly boiling water and beat with hand beater or electric beater until mixture is light and fluffy and will hold its shape. This requires about 7 min by hand or 3 to 4 min by electric mixer.

Remove from heat; add vanilla. Continue beating until frosting is stiff enough to stand in peaks (takes quite a lot of beating).

If you use coconut don't put it in frosting, but put it on top and sides after frosting the cake.

I think you'll prefer cooked frosting.
