½ cup softened butter, 1 cup sugar, 1 egg, 2 tbsp. milk, 1 tsp. vanilla, 1¾ cup flour, 2 tsp. baking powder, 1 tsp. cinnamon, ½ tsp. ground nutmeg, ¼ tsp. ground cloves, red colored sugar

Beat butter in large bowl with electric mixer at med speed until smooth. Add sugar; beat until well blended. Add egg, milk and vanilla; beat until blended. Combine flour, baking powder, cinnamon, nutmeg and cloves in medium bowl. Gradually add flour mixture to butter mixture at low speed. Blend well after each addition. Shape into 2 logs about 6" long and 2" in diameter. Wrap each log in plastic wrap. Refrigerate for 2 to 3 hours or overnight. Preheat oven to 350º. Grease cookie sheets. Cut logs into ¼" thick slice; sprinkle with colored sugar. Bake 11-13 minutes or until edges are light brown. Transfer to wire racks to cool. Store in airtight container.
