Salad:
½ c. sliced almonds
3 T. sugar
½ head each iceberg & romaine lettuce
2 green onions, sliced
1 c. celery, sliced
2- 11oz cans mandarin orange sections, drained

Dressing:
1 tsp salt; dash of pepper
½ C sugar, ½ cider vinegar, ½ c salad oil
Dash- Tabasco – 1 T snipped parsley

Directions:
Directions:
Combine almonds and sugar in heavy skillet. Cook on low temperature stirring constantly until sugar carmelizes and coats almonds. Spoon coated nuts in waxed paper & quickly break apart. Store in covered jar @ room temperature.
Mix together salad ingredients. Sprinkle with carmelized almonds.
Dressing: Combine & mix ingredients. Add to salad and toss.
