Directions: |
Directions:Remove your asparagus from the bag and cut about 2 inches from the bottom up to remove harder dry part of the asparagus. Rinse and place on a plate. Brush each asparagus spear with a light coating of olive oil. Sprinkle lightly with garlic salt and seasoning salt. Place plate to the side.
Open up package of thick cut bacon. Take 4 spears of seasoned asparagus and beginning from the bottom up wrap about an inch of bacon around all 4 stems, run a toothpick through the bacon and use it to fasten the bottom of the bacon around the group of spears. Continue wrapping bacon around the spears until it reaches the top and use another toothpick to close up the top of the bacon like you did to the bottom.
The toothpicks will burn on the grill but the asparagus spears will be held together by the cooked bacon. Remember to continue to look for partial burnt toothpicks before eating to avoid hurting yourself.
RINSE AND REPEAT UNTIL ALL ASPARAGUS IS WRAPPED IN BACON!!
Take out to the grill and place on the area of the grill that will receive the least amount of heat and exposure to fire, the grease from the bacon will drip causing the asparagus to burn too quickly. Cook the bacon wrapped asparagus on the grill for about 3 - 5 minutes on each side until the bacon is as crispy as you would like it to be and the asparagus is cooked nicely.. ENJOY!! |
