1⅓ Cup All-Purpose Flour
1¾ Cup Sugar
13 Egg Whites
1½ tsp. Cream of tartar
⅓ tsp. Salt
1½ tsp. Vanilla
¾ tsp. Almond Extract

Directions:
Directions:
Sift flour and ½ Cup sugar together four times. Mix egg whites, cream of tartar, salt and flavorings with rotary beater until soft peaks form. Add the remaining sugar to the egg whites in 4 additions. In 4 additions, fold the flour mixture into the egg whites. Turn into an angel food cake pan and bake 375º for 35-40 minutes.
 

ANGEL FOOD CAKE ICING

1/3 Cup Cornstarch
1/3 Cup Sugar
2 Cups Milk
1 Egg Yolk
2 tsp. Vanilla
1/2 Pound Butter
1 Cup Powdered Sugar

Directions:
Directions:
Mix the cornstarch and sugar. Add milk and eg yolk. Cook until thick, stirring constantly. Add vanilla. chill until Cold. Cream the butter and powdered sugar. Add cold custard. Beat 2 to 3 minutes until spreadable.
