2 28oz Rao's Marinara or your own tomato sauce or one 32 oz if want less sauce
1 onion chopped
Garlic olive oil
1-2 t. Red pepper flakes
Kosher salt and pepper to taste
Italian herbs
1 lb. ziti or penne
2 c. Fresh ricotta
2 T. Olive oil
2 T. Parsley chopped
2 T. Fresh basil chopped
1 lb fresh mozzarella, sliced and divided
1/2 c. Fresh grated parm plus more

Oven 375º Grease 13 X 9 in pan
Cook pasta for half the time about 6 minutes or soak in hot salted water cover 3-4 in for 30 min stir after 5 min.
Drain and save some pasta water
Sauté onion in olive oil over med high heat. After few min add Italian seasonings, red pepper, salt and pepper.
Then add marinara and cook for 10-15 min.
Combine ricotta, 2 T. Olive oil, 2 T. Parsley, 2 T. Basil, salt and pepper.

Add pasta to sauce and mix. Add some pasta water if want to thin a little.
Add half to baking dish. Dollop with ricotta mix. Top with pieces of 1/2 to 3/4 mozzarella and 1/2 c. Parm.
Top with rest of ziti mix and rest of mozzarella and more parm if like

Bake 30 minutes then broil 5 min.
Can add more parm and basil if like
