1/2 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup white sugar
1 cup shortening
1 tsp. cream of tartar
1/8 tsp. salt
1 egg
1 tsp. coconut extract
2 cups flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. vegetable oil
Sugar for coating.
Directions:
Directions:
Cream sugar and shortening. Add egg, extract and oil. Beat. Mix salt, cream of tartar, flour, and baking soda. Stir into creamed mixture. Roll into small balls, dip in water, and roll in granulated sugar. Place 2" apart on well-greased cookie sheet. Bake at 350 degrees for 10-12 minutes. Cool on rack.
