Ingredients:
4 cups scalded milk
1 stick of oleo (butter)
4 cups warm-hot water
4 packets (or 9 tsp) of yeast
2 eggs
½ cup sugar
1 TBSP. salt

3-4 cups whole wheat flour

Additional 1 stick of butter to grease bowl, pans and to brush on top when done.

Directions:
Directions:
Put 4 cups of milk in microwave for approximately 4 minutes until scalded. Put 1 stick of oleo in large bowl. Pour scalded milk on butter and stir with a wire whisk. Add ½ cup of sugar. Put the 4 cups of hot water in a separate bowl. Add yeast to the water and let sit for 15 minutes without stirring. Yeast mixture should be bubbly when stirred. Whisk the egg and salt into the milk, butter and sugar mixture. After yeast becomes active add to the milk, sugar, egg mixture. Mix well. Start adding the flour one cup at a time starting with the whole wheat. Keep adding flour while mixing and transfer to a floured counter once mixing in the bowl becomes difficult. Keep kneading until no flour is visible. Use 2-3 TBSP to grease clean bowl. Flip in bowl so both sides are buttered. Lay a clean dish towel over the bowl and let rise for 1 hour. The dough should double in size and expand out of the bowl slightly. Divide into 5 or 6 loaves. Work each loaf into a greased bread pan. Use a fork to stab each dough in each pan to release any air. Let dough in pans rise for another 30 minutes. Bake at 400º for 20 minutes, then decrease temperature to 375º for 10-15 more minutes. Loaves should sound hollow when tapped. Brush each loaf with butter.
