2/3 c. shortening
2 tbsp. hot water
2 c. brown sugar
2 tsp. vanilla
2 eggs, slightly beaten
2 c. flour
1/2 tsp. salt
1 tsp. baking powder
1 bag (12-oz) chocolate chips

Directions:
Directions:
In a heavy saucepan, melt shortening. Add brown sugar, vanilla, hot water, and eggs. Remove from heat and mix in salt, baking powder, and flour. Spread in 9x13" pan. Sprinkle half of chocolate chips on top. Bake 20-25 minutes at 350. Let cool a little, but easiest to cut warm.
