½ c butter or margarine
2 c fresh bread crumbs
2 c sweetened apple sauce
2 T sugar
1 t cinnamon
½ pint half and half or whipped cream

Directions:
Directions:
Melt butter in small skillet and add bread crumbs. Toss lightly until crumbs are coated. Place half the crumb mixture in quart shallow baking dish. Spoon apple sauce over crumbs. Cover with remaining ½ crumb mixture. Combine sugar and cinnamon. Sprinkle over crumbs. Cover and bake in preheated oven at 350º for 30 minutes. Uncover and bake 10 more minutes. Serve warm with half and half or whipped topping.
