- 2 ½ cups all purpose flour

- ½ teaspoon salt

- 16 tablespoons unsalted butter

- ¾ cup granulated sugar

- ½ cup confectioners sugar

- 2 large egg yolk

- 2 teaspoon vanilla extract

- ½ cup sprinkles, sanding sugar, or chopped toasted nuts

1. Whisk flour and salt together in medium bowl. Beat butter, granulated sugar, and confectioners sugar on medium- high speed until fluffy. 3 to 6 minutes. Add egg yolk and vanilla and beat until combined. Slowly add flour mixture, and mix until combined. divide the dough and roll each half in about 6 inches long, wrap logs tightly in plastic wrap and put in refrigerator for about 2 hours.

2. Adjust oven racks to upper- middle and lower middle positions and heat the oven up to 325º. spread the sprinkles on a piece of rimmed baking sheet. Roll logs in sprinkles to coat the outside.

3. slice 1 log into ¼ inch- thick rounds and evenly space rounds on prepared sheets. cook until the edge of the cookie begins to look brown. for 12 minutes, and try to rotate the sheets.

4. let the cookies cool for 5 minutes, then transfer it to the wire wrack.let the cookies cool completely.

They have been the best cookies I've ever tried and i am so excited to take these for my future cooking.These cookies have been known for a long time and im so glad my aunt ever did them to us on holidays.
