Sift together:
2 cups sifted flour
1 t. salt
3 t. baking powder
3/4 cup sugar
Add:
1/4 cup shortening
1/4 cup brown sugar
3/4 cup milk
Beat for 2 minutes at low speed.
Add:
2 eggs
1 t. vanilla
Beat for 2 minutes. Pour into greased cake pans. Sprinkle 1 small package chocolate chips, reserving 2 T. for frosting.

Bake at 350 for 30-40 minutes. Use with Fluffy Sea Foam Frosting.
