Ingredients:
Ingredients:
7 cups flour
1 pound lard
1 Tblsp butter
2 cups sugar
1 tsp salt
5 tsp baking powder
2 Tblsp nutmeg
3 eggs
1 cup milk
1 pound currant raisins

Directions:
Directions:
Pour boiling water over currants and let stand 10 minutes. Drain on paper towel. Mix flour, lard, butter, currants, sugar, baking powder, nutmeg, & salt like pie crust. Beat eggs and add milk to above mixture. Roll and cut out with cookie cutter. Bake in warm griddle. Do not have griddle too hot as these cookies burn very easily. (you can use an electric fry pan) Joyce Garms submitted Albena's recipe and said she didn't use the currants or raisins, she didn't have the currants and they don't like raisins but she added that it turned out o.k. without the raisins.
