Glass canning jar
Screw on lid
Cheese cloth

Directions:
Directions:
Place 1-1/2 in. of rinsed bird seed in glass jar. Add water covering just over the top of the bird seed. Cover with cheese cloth and tighten with opened lid. Let it sit overnight (next to the sink). Drain off water and rinse the next morning. Fill back up with water and drain twice a day leaving it upside down (at an angle in a bowl) to drain excess water. You should get sprouts in 4 days.

Grandma made it for the birds she loved so much but I also saw her eat a lot of the bird seed sprouts.
