2 c. sugar
2 c. water
2 c. vinegar
1 tsp. salt
1 T. cinnamon
1 T. cloves
8 c. beets

Directions:
Directions:
Wash and drain beets. Cover with boiling water and cook until tender. Remove skins, stem and root ends. If you are using large beets slice them into smaller pieces.

Combine all other ingredients and bring to a boil letting simmer for 10 minutes. Pack beets into hot, sterilized jars. Pour boiling syrup over beets. Seal.
