2 lbs. ground beef
1 onion, chopped
1 green pepper, chopped
3-4 ribs of celery
Lawry© Seasoned Salt
1 tsp. crushed rosemary
Black Pepper
3-4 Bay Leaves
1 qt. tomato juice or 29 oz. canned tomato sauce
Ketchup an/or tomato paste
water

1. Along with the onion, green pepper, celery and seasoning, brown the meat and crumble; drain well.
2. Add all other ingredients and slowly simmer - the longer, the better.
3. Remove bay leaves before serving over spaghetti.

OK, when Mom made this it was always delicious. Dad always teased her by saying that she should open a "spaghetti house"! Now, these are the ingredients as she recalled, but keep in mind, she never measured. That is why there are not amounts written beside all ingredients. And, that is why ingredients like water, ketchup, tomato paste, etc. are so vague. She just added these as she "thought it needed it", I think, by the looks of the sauce. I'm not sure why, but if I recall, her sauce always tasted about the same. This one will take an acquired skill starting with the old "hit and miss" method. I had to include it into my book...I just had to...you understand! If you can perfect the actual ingredient list, please share!
