1 dozen eggs, separated
1 pound powdered sugar, at least
Cinnamon, nutmeg and cloves
Brandy or rum

Separate eggs. Beat yolks with spices and enough powdered sugar to make the mixture very thick. Fold in egg whites, stiffly beaten but not dry. Serve in warm mugs with hot milk, a shot of brandy or rum, and topped with a sprinkling of nutmeg.

My grandpa made this every Christmas and New Year's. Carolers used to come by and they were all invited in for a warm drink. The egg mixture was kept in the refrigerator for whenever anyone would drop in.
