1 - ¾ cup flour
2 t. baking powder
1 t. cinnamon
¾ t. salt
1 c. shortening
1 - ⅔ cups firmly packed brown sugar
2 eggs
1 t. vanilla
2 squares unsweetened chocolate, melted
⅓ cup milk

Directions:

Mix flour with baking powder, cinnamon, and salt.
Cream shortening. Gradually beat in sugar and continue beating until light and fluffy. Beat in eggs and vanilla. Stir in melted chocolate. Add flour mixture, alternately with milk, beating after each addition until smooth. Chill til firm-at least 2-3 hours. Shape into 1-inch balls and roll in confectioners sugar. Bake on ungreased baking sheets at 350 for 18 minutes.

Makes about 5 dozen cookies.
