1 box brown sugar (2 ⅓ cups)
2 sticks margarine
3 eggs
2 ⅔ cup flour
1 t salt
2 t baking powder
1 cup chocolate chips
1 t vanilla

Directions:
Directions:
Melt margarine in a large pot. Stir in brown sugar. Remove from heat. Add eggs slowly (so they don't become scrambled!) Add remaining ingredients.

Pour in greased 9 x 13 pan.
Bake at 350 for 30-35 minutes.

My mom has made these brownies for years. When I first started bringing John Echols around to family events, he loved them! They're especially good right out of the oven when the chocolate chips are melty! The original recipe was from Cary Gilmer, a lady who went to Ghent Brethren Church with us in Roanoke, VA.
